Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno (Handel, Haim)

The first oratorio of Handel is already this absolute masterpiece where Time (Tempo, tenor Pavil Breslik), Disenchantment (Disinganno, alto Sonia Prina), Pleasure (Piacere, mezzo Ann Hallenberg) and Beauty (Bellezza, soprano Natalie Dessay) sing under the direction (and keyboards!) of one my goddesses, Emmanuelle Haim, and her magnificent Baroque orchestra Le Concert dAstrée.

Here, only three pieces are given, all from Act II: the magnificent quartet Voglio Tempo per Risolvere, the painfullly beautiful duetto Il bel pianto dell'Aurora sung by Disinganno + Tempo and the unsurpassable final aria Tu del ciel ministro eletto, in which the French super diva Natalie Dessay and the Primo violino deliver a dialogue in one of the pinnacles of all music. Beauty at its highest.
